Jesus Christ heals & grants believers power to emulate Him.

Yoked in His grace to, you do greater works.

To emulate Christ is to take His yoke upon you—drawing on His grace to be perfected in Him and empowered to do greater works than He did (John 14:12).

It is not mere imitation, but transformation: to equal or excel by covenant, through His enabling power (Ether 12:27).

Post 64: Waterwalkers Do Greater Works in His Grace: Not Drones, but Sons and Daughters

Waterwalkers Do Greater Works in His Grace: Not Drones, Sons and Daughters

We are not here to imitate.
We are here to emulate.

We are not called to mimic Christ like actors following a script, but to walk with Him, to be perfected in His yoke, and to do greater works—not by our strength, but by His grace.

Be Perfected in Christ's Yoke

This is the heart of discipleship:

To step out onto the waves—not as thrill-seekers, but as covenant-keepers.

To become not just followers of Christ, but those who move with Him, speak His words, and act in His stead.

But to walk on water is not the goal.

It is the consequence of a deeper reality: living in His grace.

Grace is not just healing and comfort.
Grace is power.
Power to rise when we fall.
Power to be made strong in weakness.

Power to be sanctified—not coddled—by the very burdens we once prayed would be removed.

"If they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."
—Ether 12:27

This is not self-help.

This is surrender.
This is not about the arm of flesh or willpower.

This is transformation through righteous habits, to master the natural man from within.

Not Drones, Sons and Daughters

God is not raising up drones to do as they're told, mechanically mimicking the motions of the Master.

He is raising up sons and daughters—those who know His voice, walk in His ways, and act not because they are compelled in all things, but because the power is in them (D&C 58:28).

He isn't looking for mimics. He's shaping heirs—joint-heirs with Christ—who act in His grace, according to His law, and after His pattern, even when no explicit command is given.

"It is not meet that I should command in all things; for he that is compelled in all things… the same is a slothful and not a wise servant… Men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will… For the power is in them."
—Doctrine & Covenants 58:26–28

This isn't rebellion—it's reverence.

To act in alignment with His ways, His laws, His thoughts.

To rise up not only when commanded, but because our hearts are full of His word, and our hands are ready to build Zion.

"Be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great."
—D&C 64:33

This Is the Work of the Waterwalker

To be yoked with Christ is not to be carried—it is to be strengthened, taught, and refined.

The Lord doesn't remove the storm.
He builds the faith to walk on water in the middle of it.
He gives us weakness so we can walk in humility.
He gives us grace so we can rise in strength.

And He calls us to do greater works—not apart from Him, but in His grace.

This is not mimicry.
This is divine momentum.
We walk in His name.
We act by His Spirit.
We build in the light of Zion.

As agents unto ourselves, we are not meant to sit and wait for instructions. We are to be anxiously engaged in a good cause, bringing to pass much righteousness by His Spirit.

Zion is not built by spectators. It's built by willing and obedient hearts, laying the foundation of a great work—one small thing at a time (D&C 64:33–34).

So let this be our anthem, our shared promise:

Be Perfected in Christ's Yoke
Waterwalkers Do Greater Works in His Grace

It's not just a mantra.
It's a mandate.
To walk in weakness.
To rise in grace.

To do all He did, and greater—in His name, by His power.

This is the way of the Waterwalker.

One step at a time, on waves of glory.

Reflection:

In what ways is the Lord inviting you to walk on water—to step out in faith and do the greater works He has prepared for you?

How can you more fully take His yoke upon you, relying on His grace to be made strong in your weakness?

Ponder these questions prayerfully. Then rise up and walk, empowered by the promise that as you move in His name, He will guide your every step—on the waves, and beyond.
