Post 25: The Power of Seeking Good—You Find What You Seek

Choosing Light Over Lies—Discover the transformative power of seeking and multiplying good in others.

The Trap of Negativity
The adversary, the father of lies, seeks to plant seeds of negativity in your mind, much like the premise of the movie Inception. He whispers lies, convinces you they are your own thoughts, and persuades you to believe that you are bad, unworthy, or beyond repair. This path leads to misery, the state he longs to drag you into. But these are lies. You are innately good—a son or daughter of God with divine potential.

God Is Good, and Good Multiplies
Moroni teaches that all good things come from God (Moroni 7:13, 16). The adversary opposes good, twists it for his purposes, and uses transitory rewards—fame, wealth, or fleeting power—to manipulate and control you.

In contrast, God seeks to mentor and empower you to receive every good thing, that you may go and do likewise. When you work with an eye single to God's glory, He teaches you how to handle and control the powers of heaven, enabling you to give of your substance freely to make all men rich like unto you and ultimately receive all God has (Jacob 2:18-19; D&C 11:7).

The 13th Article of Faith declares: “We seek after these things [anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy].” Seeking good multiplies it. When you recognize and praise the good in others, you align with divine principles and create an environment where good flourishes. A child praised for their efforts will strive to do more good.

Seek Good, Find God
Are you ready to reject negativity and embrace the light? Look for the good in those around you. Praise it. Watch as it multiplies in your life. Cease to find fault (D&C 88:124). Instead, come unto Christ and seek for the good in others. Begin your journey by identifying one good thing in someone you encounter today and expressing gratitude for it.

A Life of Light and Increase
As you seek good and praise it, you will experience a shift in your heart and your surroundings. The light grows, and your relationships transform. Your life aligns with God’s will, opening the door to His infinite blessings.

I’ll Walk With You

The adversary seeks to tear you down by filling your mind with lies and negativity, convincing you that you are unworthy or irreparable. But these lies lose their power when you turn to Christ, the source of all good, and seek the light in others. As you embrace this principle—finding and multiplying good in those around you—you unlock the power to align your life with His. In this alignment, Christ strengthens you to rise above the adversary’s snares and live a life of divine abundance.
