Jesus Christ heals & grants believers power to emulate Him.

Yoked in His grace to, you do greater works.

To emulate Christ is to take His yoke upon you—drawing on His grace to be perfected in Him and empowered to do greater works than He did (John 14:12).

It is not mere imitation, but transformation: to equal or excel by covenant, through His enabling power (Ether 12:27).

Post 60: The Grisham Approach: Writing Bold While Living Wisely

The Grisham Approach: Writing Bold While Living Wisely

When I published "From Lukewarm to Hot: A Call to Share from the Housetops" yesterday, there was a deeper struggle happening behind the words that I didn't share.

In the 24 hours between drafting that post and finalizing it this morning, I've been hunting for a job that will actually provide for my family—something beyond my current temp position that merely maintains our nest egg. As I revised the words about being "hot" instead of "lukewarm," I was struck by a humbling realization: how fickle I can be as a human being.

The irony wasn't lost on me. Here I was, writing boldly about commitment and stepping fully into my purpose, while simultaneously feeling the weight of financial responsibility and uncertainty. But that's precisely when clarity emerged.

In truly coming to know the Lord, I am surrendering to His will. My family has suffered long enough through my journey, and while my writing remains a daily habit that I'm committed to making bolder, the reality of our current situation requires balance.

I've decided to follow what I call the "John Grisham approach"—writing faithfully each day while maintaining his law practice, even after his first book became a bestseller. I'll dedicate one to two hours daily to writing within my busy schedule and publish consistently, while also pursuing work that can sustain us now.

This isn't a retreat from being "hot" in my faith or mission. Rather, it's recognizing that sometimes true boldness means making difficult practical decisions while keeping the flame alive. Being lukewarm is about half-hearted commitment; being "hot" is about full surrender—even when that surrender means accepting seasons of balance and patience.

I share this because I believe in transparency. The journey of faith isn't always a straight line of triumphant breakthroughs. Sometimes it's messy, contradictory, and requires humble reassessment. And that's exactly where grace meets us.

What areas of your life are calling for both bold commitment and practical wisdom?
